We booked by telephone after leaving a voicemail message... they call back and confirmed they could fit us in for a table of 9.. the waiter suggested we all have a mix tandor. Starter... assume this wpuld make it easy for the kitchen even thou the place was less than 1/2 full.... The starters where very nice... no probs.... Then the main course... everyone thought the food was very bland no spice or flavor to the meals... being the brave fool I wanted to send my meal back as I had selected a spicy kabab from the Cheifs special menu... so I expected some spicy and a bit of taste... both of which where lacking... I tried to get a watiers attention for 5 mins... and no one aas maming sure the t...
We only discovered that our favourite restaurant does takeaway/deliveries tonight....delighted! The food is wonderful, the best by far. We'd been let down by our usual Castle Bromwich restaurant (mentioning no names) and Shabar promised us a quick delivery. They didn't let us down, it was speedy and the driver was really friendly. It was a large, varied order and they got everything absolutely spot on, and even threw in a couple of great extras. THIS IS NOW OUR GO-TO TAKEAWAY AS WELL AS EAT IN RESTAURANT!!
Visited here with all my colleagues from near and far (15 of us) whilst attending an event at the NEC the next day. Accommodating a large booking is difficult enough, but the service was prompt, the food was quick and delicious, all came at the same time and they put up with a rowdy bunch! They provided birthday cake and a free bottle of alcohol for my friend, and baileys for all of us. The bill proved it was good value for money and would definitely return when in Birmingham
I exhibit at the NEC about 3 times a year, and was recommended to go to this restaurant by my hotel about 4 years ago. I go there every time I visit now, and I have yet to be disappointed. Highly recommend this place. The food is great, the staff are happy, and it’s always a lovely experience. The restaurant is a bit isolated, but it’s the best curry I’ve ever had, so well worth the effort.

Overnight at Birmingham airport and decided to get a taxi to this restaurant. We were not disappointed. Attentive staff excellent chefs specials and a complimentary digestive at the end of the meal. Highly recommend a visit well worth the taxi fare!
Visited Shabar for a pre concert curry on a very cold night. Had a very warm welcome, excellent food, one of the best curry meals I have had for a long time, and complimentary drink. Look forward to our next visit.
We have recently moved to the area and they managed to fit us in without a reservation. Food was amazing and service was fast and quick. Definitely will return

great eating, we had some excellent appetizers as a group and the lambpasanda was very nice. they even finish with a round liqueur for the table.
Just great. I chose the special minty lamb of the chef who was also excellent. all the others in my party had the same reaction to their meals.
