We had a really nice afternoon meal at The Ship Inn last weekend. The place was quiet when we arrived and the staff were welcoming and friendly. We ordered a couple of local beers and some food. We really liked the place in general. Food arrived quickly, I had a burger and my partner had the falafel wrap, we both loved it. We were starving but the portions were quite big so we were stuffed. After a short while the place got busier with chatty friendly people, couples playing board games and even a cute friendly doggo. We left very happy. Highly recommend :
On Saturday, April 15th, we waited 40 minutes for an order of olives and hummus with a toasted pita bread. Despite inquiring three times about the delay for a simple cold dish, it took a long time to arrive. When it finally did, I requested to speak to the manager, JS. The manager explained that the delay was due to everything being prepared to order and the restaurant being exceptionally busy. In my opinion, the operations at this establishment are not efficient.
I visited this restaurant on a busy Saturday afternoon for drinks with friends. The atmosphere was fantastic, bustling with people and a great vibe. There was a good variety of drinks to choose from and the service was surprisingly fast considering how crowded it was. I would definitely recommend this place and will be returning again in the future!
Had a great Sunday lurch here after reading a recent recommendation by the Evening chronicle. Found the staff very friendly and the pub had a nice atmosphere. The food was very tasty with the beef being cooked perfectly, veg had a nice bite, tasty Yorkshires and roasties served with a nice rich gravy. Will return soon.

Best pub I’ve ever been to, staff are lovely and owners are too. Such a lovely atmosphere and place to be. After visiting the ship wouldn’t want to go anywhere else. Sunday dinners are amazing and would highly recommend. Overall an amazing environment, you won’t be disappointed!!
Lovely early afternoon few few beers in the Ship Benton x the blonde cask ale was spot on as was the service and company both bar staff and customers were great. Bar felt very safe and everyone was so friendly. Will deffo return, thank you xxx

Always low stocks of beer if any invariably no real ales run short very often. Shame really always been a favourite of ours for 55 years. Cant rate restaurant as only does Sunday dinners we don't go. Which they say are very good

Great breakfast and coffee with detail to the presentation of the breakfast, very helpful in getting refills. Great room, clean, it was a shame the restaurant closed early. Isolated location but nice.
Spend loads on a round and cant even shelter from the rain outside. What a joke ! Very unhelpfull staff. Waiting for taxi in rain and asked to leave
