Boiiiiii!!!!! So yall was just hiding this place? In MD? Just straight keeping secrets?? How could you??!! I was craving some fried catfish and boyyyyy did this place deliver. My catfish was a crispy, golden brown. I also got the Mac and cheese and rice and gravy. So freaking good!! I got that half and half tea and the carrot cake. This the food that make you dance and slap ya momma across the room. Now I will say...that wait aint nothing to laugh about. You gonna wait whether you order ahead or walk in. So, don't have no plans or you're gonna miss em. Either way I highly recommend them! Wish I had a place this back home.
The food is always fresh and good at Soul Boat...at least when I go. They just need to work on seasoning their food a little better. I love the candied yams though, they're good and not to sweet...some might say, they could use a little more spices, maybe but I like them as is. They have really good fried chicken wings too. I usually buy (2) wings with any meal I get: one for me and one for my husband, for the ride home. I must add, the half and half is ridiculously sweet, I can't drink it but obviously alot of ppl love it because they're still selling it that way. But overall, their food is worth the price.
I was the last customer tonight around 9:55 right before close and they were very were very kind to me on the phone and in person. Clean nice establishment when I came in. They cooked my order even after doors closed and handed me a very hot very delicious meal with extra extra ribs and enormous sides. I feel like family tonight meal was so delicious put me right to sleep Thank you for a excellent wonderful experience soul boat keep up the great work
Update: my laketrout was so dry it was basically empty. Will not return. First time here. Was in the area so I tried it out. I ordered catfish nuggets, yams, fried chicken, mac cheese, lake trout. As another reviewer stated the food is pretty good taste wise but the portions are small. The yams are basic mac cheese was very basic. Catfish was ok. Portion sizes are a little bigger than my pics I ate some). One platter is not shareable.

This half half alone is worth the visit! This drink is the only reason I came by. For $2, you cannot beat the taste and volume of this treat. A photo does no justice to the party your taste buds will have, I promise you. A good half half blends a lovely sweet tea and sweet, tangy lemonade. Alone these champs take on any contender. Together, they are a movement to any dance tune you have! Excuse the photo; I almost forgot to take one
I like there food. Of course I only get 2 types of fish from them. Haven’t had a bad experience here. I don’t go very often because their prices are too high for me. That’s why I gave them 4 stars. Everyone their has great attitudes towards me. They are very accommodating with their customers. If their prices were lower, I would eat their more often. But I would definitely recommend them.
I ordered mustard wings. The wings had a bit of mustard squirt on each one bite had mustard on it. The mac and cheese was very mediocre the yams were not traditional or as expected the entire meal was a let down. I have pictures. I ordered the fried salmon previously which was delicious but sadly I wasted $26 on chicken what's a dab of mustard and two mediocre sides.
My bbq chicken was pink and the bbq sauce was clear!! It was soo much “sauce” all over the rest of the food. The rice underneath was soaked in whatever they call sauce. I couldn’t dare to eat it! I just threw it away in disgust!! Just a waste of money!! This place needs to close down.

My family and I were visiting from MD and stopped by Cornbread Newark…it didn’t disappoint. The food, service and atmosphere was stellar! We will return. Kawana, Q , Staff were great!
