Went on a busy Saturday night, was lucky that didn’t have to queue outside but apparently it was not well prepared- the table and chair weren’t wiped down and we had to wait for five minutes to ask for a menu.<br/ <br/ However the dishes were really really good. We ordered:<br/ Pan fried port buns<br/ Braised bamboo shoots<br/ Stir-fires rice cakes with shredded pork and shepherds’ purse<br/ Stone pot steamed chicken with okra in bean sauce<br/ <br/ The bamboo shoots were way beyond our expectations, very authentic Shanghai taste. The chicken meat was tender and the rice cakes were soft...<br/ <br/ Definitely will come back and try out other dishes.
I've been past this place many times when I'm around Ashfield but finally decided to go inside and I don't regret it! <br/ Ordered: Xiao Long Bao (8pieces), they were nice and soupy!, Beef Brisket potato in stonepot, definitely a comfort dish this one, the sauce they have in this one is smooth and gravy-like. The vegetarian casserole was good too, the veggies were in a silky mushroom-like sauce. <br/ <br/ Ill be back to this place for sure. Service wasn't bad either and seats were comfortable.
I always make sure to order xiao long bao and pork & chive dumplings when I visit Taste of Shanghai, as they do them exceptionally well at all of their locations. The noodle dishes are both affordable and delicious. I appreciate that they make their own lemon lime bitters rather than serving me a bottled version. I am a big fan of Taste of Shanghai and will definitely be returning.
The xiao long baos at this restaurant are pretty good, and you can watch them being made through the window. The service is also quite decent. I would also suggest trying their shen jian bao. It can be a little oily, so keep that in mind. Despite that, it's a satisfying option for satisfying your bao cravings.

Taste of Shanghai is a fantastic spot to enjoy a meal and unwind with friends. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was modern, and the prices were very reasonable. The restaurant was busy, but the waitstaff was friendly and greeted us with a smile whenever we needed help. I highly recommend dining here!
Always enjoy eating here with my family. The best dishes is the pan fried pork buns! Chewy on the top, crunchy on the bottom and you've got juicy pork and delicious, steaming soup on the inside.
Solid soup dumplings found here!<br/ <br/ The Soup Dumplings are filled with bursting flavour, to the point that losing a drop hurts you inside. It's very easy to order multiple servings
love the noodle there! the noodle is hand made. The entree deep fried chicken and mushroom is yummy! The eel and prawn is not as good as expected. Generally good.
