hmmmm, drove all the way to the chapel inn after reviewing their website and see positive comments and ability to admit dogs. Welcome was hostile and quick to say that they do not allow dogs in the restaurant, completely understandable on that so very happy to sit in the bar that only one other party sits. before the house had to ask the management wish lunch and menu looked good, restaurant quite empty, although this jubilee weekend. we were a party of 2 and they couldn't feed us as lack of food and supplies on a 4 day bank picking weeks?! before the house had to ask the management again ) we had a drink, then left.
Chef Specials at night. good food, good price! I would like to reserve! beautiful location. beautiful building. updated. we were back a few times and always enjoyed eating. recently, the vegan and vegetarian options were limited. Hopefully only one kovid thing. a beautiful place to visit. a nice mix of a local pub and smart restaurant. they have an outside area with seating. no real pub garden . dogs welcome in the bar area I believe 3 tables. I do not think they are allowed in the other areas.
I just think this pub could be so much better. No effort has been made to make the inside or outside look nice…aside from a few fairy lights. Majority of other pubs post covid have made the effort to bring people back in, but sadly this pub has not and is resting on it’s laurels. Please make this a more inviting place in both winter and summer…the outside seating area is shockingly dismal. It really wouldn’t take much to change it. Or let someone else take over, please!
Popped in for a coffee as the cafe across the road was closing at 4pm. Helpful staff and good coffee.

What a real nice pub. A bit earthy, but friendly, and good ale on tap. Wish I lived closer.
