We had braved the cold wind and trekked back into Hobart Town to an old City Pub to find it was changing ownership and only had bar snacks available. We were in a quandry until we parked in McQuarrie street and stumbled upon the Dragon Bowl. It was about 6pm but already a couple of tables were busy. We were allowed to pick a table and ordered a bottle of Tasmanian Pinot Noir which at $32 is a snip. We shared the Spring Roll starter which was crisp and hit and quite tasty. Next we had Soup. My wife had the thick Chicken and Sweet Corn and i chose the Sweet and Sour Vegetable Soup which was sublime and beautifully textured and wonderfully flavoured. Both were delicious and not exoensive at $6...

We are 5 of us holidays in Hobart and went to dinner for dinner on December 26th. The restaurant was pretty full, but the ground staff is only 2 girls. I asked one of the girls, why today only 2 Stock Employees has, and she said they had only 2 Stock Employees every day. The girl runs like a chicken. You were allowed to order at the bar, order, clear table, cash handling, inviting customer, etc. You really have made a great job, although the service slower, table next to the delay complains. Grief I wish the owner of this restaurant my review and give you a high credit for the two girls and add further ground staff in the future. Grief Grief The food I ordered was a spicy, whole fish, s...
Perfectly competent table service restaurant with a standard Cantonese menu adapted to Western tastes. That's not at all bad, because the chef really can cook and the surroundings are pleasant and the service is friendly. Moderately priced wine list (Jansz NV at $40) and some excellent dishes. The roast duck ($28) was a very generous serve of boneless, moist/crispy tender duck and the chicken eggplant hot pot was excellent; savoury, slippery and fine. Don't look for super-trendy Kylie Kwong star dishes, but note that there are plenty of savvy Chinese students in here in groups, enjoying a night out at reasonable prices. BYO (!) at $5.00 per person makes this pla...
We visited The dragon bowl restaurant in hobart only out of luck after a google search of the area we were staying. The restaurant is clean, comfortable and inviting. The staff are welcoming and freindly. There is a large selection of drinks on the menu. The quality and wide choice of food on offer will cater to most tastes. Quailty and reasonable price are the name of the game here. Well worth a visit. Book a table now
Been here a few times. Each time food was superb. Sometimes the wait staff are a bit out of breath. .. Menu is extensive and everything I've had has been great. Well priced and tasty. Loved the minced pork & beans. Others have had the honey chicken- again. .very good. Will return.
We came here for an easy dinner because of its close proximity to the Ibis. We had garlic chicken and satay chicken and a combination fried rice (a meal on its own). The good was fresh, delicious and well priced. I would definitely visit again.
The best Chinese food in Hobart! Fresh mouth pouring outstanding food. The food sections are huge and customer service is exceptional. Fast and friendly. Completely recommend to eat or take away ????
Dinner was in a warm ambient setting, staff were welcoming and attentive. Food, although typically asian, was well presented and delicious. A special mention for the roast duck. Book a table now
