Was lucky to have tickets for one of their tiny gigs in the back room so decided to make a night of it with dinner and drinks too. First time there and first trying vegan food but it definitely won’t be the last! Staff were so friendly and helped us with the menu which is made up of small dishes. Absolutely delicious food, really unusual dishes and good range of drinks to go with it. The place itself is really quirky, lots to look at and the cakes look fab too. The Glad Cafe is always fantastic for some drinks and live music however my girlfriend and I decided to try the food .... Very tasty indeed . The Glad has a nice tapas style vegan menu with some great dishes . We opted for five dishes and we were stuffed . Our favourite dish was the jackfruit curry as it was delicious . Would recommend this lovely place for a drink or bite to eat as you can sit and relax or take in a gig whatever is your preference .
I had the vegan brunch, it had a number of different things like shiitake mushrooms, potato wedges, vegan haggis, potato scone, beans in tomato sauce. It was filling but each item was seasoned differently, it was all a bit too much from a flavour fest perspective. There was a real yearning for some salad freshness after eating most of the meal.
Came for a drink with friends. Incredibly quirky place but very friendly and good range of drinks. Friendly staff and really nice atmosphere. Can’t answer for the food but the menu looked terrific, will come again and rate! Can’t recommend highly enough for a place that’s different to your average place to have a civilised drink.

I am not a vegetarian, but what a wonderful surprise to discover such fantastic variety, and taste, in a vegitarian café....tucked away behind a simple doorway that one could easily walk past. Sraff, service and price were excellent....and all ages are welcome. Thank you.
Chilled place good selection of drinks but no tia Mariae, great coffee selection and vegan food will be back to try. Wet windy day felt a bit too cold inside to sit for too long , noticed people well wrapped up jumpers on .Note to self. Liked ambience of it though .
Friendly/Cosy/Arty. Great service and amazing coffee. We had the BIG vegan breakfasts, which hosted a uniquely wonderful selection of exactly what you want from a fry-up. The homemade veggie haggis, spicy beans and miso mushrooms were the stars of the show..!
Arriving early we took out place right at the back, even then we would be no more than 10 yards from the front of the stage. Our gig was incredibly hot but you could not help but get involved as you are so close to the action Long Live the Glad Cafe

Very chilled place, good coffee and cakes, nice menu as well and very interesting decoration. Would like to come for the band nights but they're always sold out!
Had a lovely lunch here today food was georgous lovely choices nice staff and decor not cheap well worth the quality off food
