"£12 for one large glass seems astronomical to me. Even if it was a New Zealand Cabernet Sauvignon. Upmarket restaurant maybe."

A traditional English pub with authentic ales, delicious pub food, a charming thatched roof, and a characterful interior. We brought some Australian friends along and they also enjoyed all the classic English elements. There's nothing not to love about this place. You may even spot free-range pigs and donkeys grazing by the roadside in the New Forest, adding to the English charm. I can't wait to return for a Sunday roast.

It was a nice pub lunch with friends . Reasonably priced , good atmosphere . I had the sausage roll, husband had the ploughmans- never had a ploughmans with quiche included before. He really enjoyed the ploughmans , paid extra pound for the ham which was fine, but baulked at paying an extra 4 pounds for coleslaw. Our friends enjoyed their food too. I’d happily go back again if we were in the area

This New Forest pub has a wonderful atmosphere. The staff are friendly and our Sunday lunch was excellent, just like it has been on our previous visits. It's a disappointment when people leave negative reviews for simple dishes like nachos, which are essentially just crisps with cheese on top. I recommend trying a roast next time, Daisywaisy!

Can't fault the place. Beautiful building, incredibly friendly staff, good real ale, an interesting and reasonably priced menu. Seriously, probably worth six stars if such an accolade existed!
