The Hare Inn - Table reservation

We live locally and have eaten at the Hare regularly. We took another couple twice in the last 4 weeks but tonight was just awful. It took 25 minutes for a drink to be served but the problem centered around my wife 's meal and the...way the staff dealt with the issue. She ordered a steak but was served two small pieces rather than one steak, with one much thicker than the other so clearly two separate pieces. One was cooked as ordered but the other small piece was totally over cooked and unacceptable. We told the waitress who insisted it was one piece of steak which was just an embarrassing lie as clearly she had not seen it being cooked. We know that for certain as my wife had been to the l...

Booked a table for 4.30 arrived allowed to order drinks, bottle of wine beer etc then ordered two starters and roast dinners. 10 minutes later informed all roasts had sold out so back to weekly menus basically fish and chips, fish pie etc!!!! Simply not...good enough and crossed of the list of local places to eat. If the chef cannot judge how things are selling and what bookings are coming up then it is not worth going

What a lovely surprise to come across a pub serving really good food at reasonable prices makes a real change. Staff were very good and helpful. Also liked the fact they served a range of decent non alcoholic drinks. All round a place to...be recommended.

Had a great lunch for four of us, lovely food, lovely service, thanks. Good selection of freshly, well cooked food, nice people serving, good friendly atmosphere.

my 83-year-old mom went out to celebrate her birthday and had the best roast we had for years. for a lady who doesn't see much eating cleaned her plate
