We decided to venture to Hermosa Beach for some breakfast and saw that the reviews of this place were pretty good, so we checked it out. It’s located on Pier Ave which during summer months will be really tough to find parking, but we found a spot no problem (thank you winter months). We ordered the oysters (served with a delicious olive oil and micro cilantro which was different and very good), the fish tacos, the clam chowder, the French fries (hold the truffle) and the kale salad. Our server was great. She was very attentive and knew the food prep well. The reason I say that is because I always ask about how salad’s are dressed because I don’t need much dressing on mine… you’d be surprised...
We arrived a few minutes early for our 7 PM reservation, and were seated immediately at our preferred table. Our server, John, took excellent care of us during our visit. My wife selected the Sea Bass, I chose the grilled skirt steak with chimichuri sauce both were delicious. John was great at helping me avoid items with milk products in them I am very allergic to milk products. We both enjoyed watching the stream of humanity along upper Pier Ave while we ate. Another great visit at Hook Plow.
The host or server with black curly hair and glasses, whatever she was, didn’t really seem like she wanted to help. We asked for happy hour and she mentioned that it ended at 6pm, we asked if they had any other deals and she said they did not even though we could clearly see they had a promotion of Wine Wednesday, after she realized that they do have a promotion, she pointed at the board and said “it’s better explain on the board” and walked away. Staff seemed very unprofessional and rude.
We went to Hook and Plow and had an amazing dinner and experience the food was so delicious and the service was spectacular I had the octopus special and my wife had the hamburger both were excellent and cooked to perfection we will definitely be back!

As usual, excellent food and services. Had the chowder (delicious), burrata peach salad (so good) and pork chop (outstanding). Food is consistently well prepared and excellent. Only wish they would add more menu items to showcase chef's creativity.
Consistently good food quality, efficient service and lovely setting. Nice outdoor seating and good menu choices. Always enjoy fried chicken and waffles! Excellent grown up grilled cheese, too.
Consistently good local restaurant. Food is well prepared and fresh. Service is always attentive. I enjoyed the skins bay salmon salad and peach cobbler for dessert was outstanding.
Came here late on a Wednesday night and had the most amazing fish of the day! So fresh and tender. Enjoyed it a lot!

Seems like the food and service have gone downhill in the last month. Maybe the owners just don't care.
Got there early so I'm not sure about the crowd but the for was good and the ambience was pleasant
