One particular incident, among many others that myself and my friends have experienced, involved me stopping by to grab an iced latte before heading to the cinema. I had half an hour to spare, so I didn't think it would be a problem. There were three staff members working and only a few customers in the entire place. I was the only person at the bar, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to quickly order my drink. The bartender assured me he would make it right away since I was going to the cinema. We have visited the Kitchen within the StoryHouse complex many times and have had lovely meals with fabulous service. However, our most recent experience will be our last. Having booked well in advance and been shown to our table, it was over half an hour before anyone came to take an order this, in spite of having twice walked up to where the staff were congregated to ask if someone could take our order. When our order eventually arrived, it was missing three of our four main dishes. There was no explanation but lots of furious activity to correct the mistake. We were grateful for the 50% reduction of our bill but would have preferred the service we remembered from previous trips.
Me and my partner went for dinner and a movie at Storyhouse and ate in the Kitchen as I'd had the food recommended to me before hand. From arrival until we left the restaurant area to watch the film we were made to feel comfortable and welcomed by all the staff there. A lovely woman named Beth was our main server and was exceptional, as were the rest of the staff who I unfortunately didn't get the name of. The food was amazing and the staff took great care to ensure I was ok to eat it with my allergy. We will definitely be going again.
I recently visited Story House with a friend for lunch, and I was quite disappointed with my experience. Despite not wanting to complain since my friend was treating me, I had to acknowledge that the Chicken wrap I ordered was dry, cold, and not appetizing. It should have been served warm. Additionally, the cappuccino we ordered was served in a cup that was so hot it burned my lip. Despite making a special trip into Chester, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant based on my unsatisfactory visit. Not a pleasant experience.

The food here was not great at all. They have also expanded the restaurant area and added tables to the general area where theatre goers congregate which is where we sat. This made for a poor experience particularly as an electronic door was opening continuously which made it very cold. Food was borderline average. Also, the toilet facilities are woefully inadequate for the size of the venue.
The service at this restaurant was terrible. I went with friends for a coffee in the morning. We had to ask three different servers for assistance, and it took twenty minutes for our order to be taken. After that, we waited another thirty minutes for our coffee to arrive. It's a shame because the atmosphere of the place is great, but the service is really bad.
We were a large group of 18 so we prebooked and preordered. When we arrived we were seated in a great position and service was swift and attentive. The food was absolutely superb plus its great value. During our meal a choir performed a christmassy set right in front of the table. We had a wonderful evening and cannot recommend highly enough!
It is good to go somewhere that is reasonably priced, atmospheric and has different food. I took my husband here for the first time and we enjoyed our meals. We were brought a jug of water when we sat down. Since Covid they have altered the seating but we had booked in advance. Worth going just for the coffee.

Perfect for a pre-show bite to eat. The menu is well thought out with something for everyone, the food is tasty, the service friendly and attentive... What more could you possibly ask for! We've eaten here a few times now and will continue to do so. Give it a try!
