I came here on a Thursday night and tried to ordered a steak or calamari meal but they had been sold out. I ordered steak sandwich instead and they came up with a full dish of foods and chips. Everything tastes very nice and crispy. I was so happy with the order of the ‘leftover’ choice. The beef steak was well-cooked and the bread was tasty too. I love the spreading which, I guess, contains some cheese and mushrooms. I was yummy and I could finish all of the sandwich no matter how long did it take. The chips are also nice but I found it no so special compared to the sandwich. I could only take few pieces of chips and left the rest. I will come back to this place some day and highly recommen...

Excellent non-pretentious Irish pub. The staff are very friendly and certainly know how to pour a pint. The decor is what you'd expect from an Irish pub and there is a wood fire which really hits the ticket on cold winter nights. I had the Irish Coddle and although it needed some seasoning with salt and pepper, it was delicious and reminded me of when my mum would make it for me as a kid. At only $20 it was fantastic value and very filling. Their house Shiraz was very smooth and great value for happy hour at $7 when so many house wines in Melbourne are barely drinkable.

Back in the 90's when The Dear Luncher was a punk rocker, the site where The Last Jar is now used to be The Arthouse. If a great Melbourne institution has to die, then it's better to come back as an Irish pub as opposed to apartments.<br/ <br/ The Last Jar offers up some very interesting options for dining. The Dear Luncher opted for a roast beef sub that came with onion rings. Excellent value at $12. Pints of Guinness a plenty to keep lubricated.<br/ <br/ Sheer nostalgia makes this place special. The venue still has soul and charm even though it's no longer a rock pub.

I was waiting for a friend and decided to have a drink here while she was on her way.At first glance I didn't expect too much, however I was pleasantly surprised when I walked through the door!A nice and cosy interior, I was fortunate to be there when a small group of people were there playing instruments and Irish type of music. It was sooo cool! So random too, absolutely made my visit very enjoyable.Would be great to see more beers on tap as they were quite limited. Book a table now

A place of shalt, a countryside that offers teochroic meals. Alternatives of luis food, etc. are also available. The native Irish language in the menu and its decorations. Whether somewhere is cosy, warm and homely which offers meals which will warm you up. Vegan, etc. options are also available. Irish cultural influences feature on the menu and in its décor.

The staff and venue were great. I recently booked a table for 18 friends post COVID restrictions and they were very accommodating. They organised us to sit in a private dinning area and allowed us 2-3 tables. Food was lovely and drinks were reasonably priced. Highly recommend this pub to others and will be back again!

Very nice food and a decent pint. The Parmi (my partner is from QLD and insists it’s a Parmi, not a Parma! was very good by any standards and the “Irish Chips” were a real rate of home. I’m sorry I waited 19 months in Melbourne before eating here, but it has been closed in my defence!

The pub is a bit isolated from the dining precincts of inner Melbourne but it was a good find! Great atmosphere for after work drinks on a Friday but very noisy if you’re there for dinner. The food was enjoyable and above average. I had the Asparagus and Mushroom Eton Mess. Book a table now
