Was informed by a friend that the Maldon was under new management, walked in and it did look fresh and clean compared to pre-lockdown, Nice girl on the bar took order and bought food out, nachos to start all looked good and tasted good, but...it is hard to get nachos with grated cheese wrong... other half ordered a beef burger and and I had ‘homemade locally sourced lasagne’ Which was just layers of bland dry mince with hard pasta sheets between, no flavour atall, and no bechamel sauce (just grated cheese on top) onion rings hollow and overcooked filled with grease. Was refunded for uneaten food, no questions asked as I think the girl on the bar could see it was bad for herself. Really poor...
I can't speak highly enough of this pub and the food. I'm a huge curry lover I'd order takeaways left right and center, but the curry at the maldon grey is spot on, comes out hot tastes fantastic and is great value for money. My...partner isn't really a fan of curries but even she said she'd try it. The chef is clearly very talented. Oh and the roast dinner? I won't eat it anywhere else but the maldon grey its so enjoyable. 10/10.
the best pub I've had for a long time. my father and I had the cow/turkey duo, it was great! kartoffeln by far the best I had in a pub vine was perfectly cooked. stuffing was crispy and full of taste! like. you will see on the picture, I could not wait to take a bite from my yorkshire pudding and the guinness was before location creamy and laced the glass incredible. 10/10 would recommend. bravo!
My family and I have dined at this restaurant before and we were very impressed by both the food and the staff! I had been looking forward to having a fried dinner at the pub, and I can confidently say that I was not disappointed in the slightest. Delicious!

Reasonable place, friendly and helpful staff. But the food was not good. Steak was off, Turkey tasteless and the vegetable a mix of overcooked and under cooked. A real shame. The place is ideal for families. Just don't eat there!
I have to admit, I am very picky when it comes to steak, but this chef knows their stuff! Amazing food, highly recommended place to eat. Perfect for chilling out with family and friends. Definitely more than a 5 star rating.

I was in maldongrau today and the food I served today was absolutely delicious. the service was very accommodating. promot and efficient. definitiw to eat my favourite place. 10/10
3 of us ate today very tasty proper roasted potatoes lovely cauliflower cheese good meat turkey or beef served with smiles and all our requests met left very full and very happy
