The Merchant Bar in Glasgow is a solid shout if you're out with friends and looking for a casual place to catch the game. Plenty of screens mean you won’t miss a minute, whether it’s the big match or just background noise to your banter. The atmosphere is laid-back and the staff are friendly enough to make you feel welcome without hovering. Drinks-wise, you’re well covered — decent selection of beers, and the prices don’t make you wince too hard. It’s a good spot to settle in for a few rounds with the lads (or lasses). My party of 7 came here twice with a baby and a dog as well, and the staff were absolutely wonderful and accommodating. Over and over again they went above and beyond to make our time easier after a stressful day, batting away our thanks like it was nothing. Absolute credit to the establishment and the whole reason we came back a second time, only for them to do the same again.
Popped in during our stay in Glasgow and we were able to book a table for the next day to watch the football. Good selection of screens to watch sport and fairly priced drinks. Staff were efficient and helpful and kept busy. Didn't eat here so can't comment on food.
The service and atmosphere were excellent, as always. To top it off, we won the £500 jackpot in the quiz! It would have been better to be seated a bit closer to the quiz master, but overall, we were very happy with our experience.
