We had pre-booked a function room for a gathering after a funeral. The size of the room was perfect for the number of people we had. The food provided was excellent and there was plenty for everyone. Despite the somber occasion, it was nice to be able to come together and share memories. It was convenient to have a small carpark at the back of the restaurant, which was adequate for our needs. We didn't feel pressured to leave and were able to take our time.
Great pub, with a proper traditional feel. Plenty of choice on the pumps, and always seems friendly. Update: Have now been for the Sunday lunch, which was extremely good. Photo probably doesn't give it full justice, as a lot of the food isn't visable, and also sides of cauliflower cheese and dauphonoise potato. All for £11.95. Good value, fantastic quality food.
Had a Sunday lunch here and was not disappointed. Only £11.95! Friendly staff, quick service. Will definitely be going back...maybe have dessert this time! We had our daughter’s funeral reception there. The staff are absolutely fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. There was a wide range of foods available including vegetarian and vegan. The price was also very reasonable. Overall, I would fully recommend this venue to anyone. Thank-you all staff. Book a table now
After my mother's funeral on Monday, I visited the new Chequers restaurant. The owner, Lee, took great care of us and the food was delicious. Lee is a fantastic host and the New Chequers is a well-managed pub. I highly recommend it. Thank you, Lee.
Private party, buffet food and cake was taken away at 10 pm, wasn't asked if we wanted any more or to take the cakes home we bought,
