Lives up to its age. Fantastic pub, lots of fond memories here from the six years I have lived in Birmingham. Always a lovely atmosphere and visited on the weekend during the England Vs Wales rugby match the atmosphere was delightful not too much and nothing got out of hand. There was also plenty of space round the back of the pub in the new and improved outdoor area. The order to table service was a bit slow and stopped when the pub got very busy but shows they look after their staff and don't want to overwhelm them. Absolutely loved it and a must visit to anyone new to Birmingham in the Digbeth area.
The old crown is one of the dying breed of pubs that are sadly closing daily. Don't get me wrong, it's by no means a spit and sawdust working mens pub, but it is a place for everyone that has adapted in today's big chain market. Unlike the soulless chains, the old crown has an atmosphere, character and a great range of drinks. The food here is also very good , plentiful and tasty. The staff are excellent also.
What a fantastic pub, great beers, friendly staff. And the burgers taste so good! 2 smashed patties cooked to perfection, cheese, bacon, berger sauce. And then some secret chill sauce in the middle. But not to much. Highly recommend popping in for a swift pint or some food with friends. Enjoy
Decent Airbnb room 8, spacious and comfortable and clean. Love the shower in the bathroom. Above the pub so expect it to be noisy until late on a Friday night but if can put up with that then this is decent spot. Less than 10 mins walk from coach station.

A group of us went to the NYE event, couldn’t of wished for a better night... drinks were reasonable, loved the outside marquee, it was warm, really good music, seating and it wasn’t overcrowded. Thanks to all the staff for a great NYE!
Wonderful overnight stay, Spotless room and bathroom which was just a few doors away. Good choice of meals or bar snacks. Full English breakfast was very good. Could not fault any of the staff, would definitely stay here again...
Wow what a GEM of a pub. Been past it a thousand times on the bus and thought , that looks nice. Well today I went in. Superb service beer and food . Lots going on out back too! Music etc . Friendly relaxed and worth a visit.
Came here for a pub quiz with friends and was made to feel very welcome by the quiz host. All staff were friendly and helpful and the decor was cosy and comfortable. Decent selection of drinks and the food looked tasty!

I was pleasantly surprised because previously when I visited I thought it could do with a clean up! The atmosphere was great, we sat both in and outdoors, I will definitely return. Oh yeah the fries was delicious too
