Monday evening 12/06/2023 around 18:00, my wife and I stopped by, at the chairs outside, to enjoy a refreshment. I went inside to order drinks, and expected to carry them out as I have so many times in þhe past, only to be told ‘There was a function on and it was too much hassle to serve us’. This was confirmed by the bar manager on duty whose attitude was frankly rude verging on aggressive. As locals in the area, we are disgusted that our business is only good enough when you’re ‘quiet’. Furthermore, we were embarrassed to see 2 Spanish tourists and 2 German tourists also being refused entry/service all in the matter of minutes. Six of us stood outside looking in, perplexed at what had just...

On an unusually beautiful Monday evening, my partner and I stopped by, at the chairs outside, to enjoy a drink. My partner went inside to order drinks, to carry them out to a table, only to be told ‘There was a function on and it was too much hassle to serve us’. This was confirmed by the bar manager on duty whose attitude was frankly rude verging on aggressive. As locals in the area, we are disgusted that our business is only good enough when you’re ‘quiet’. And furthermore, we were embarrassed to also see/hear 2 Spanish tourists and then 2 German tourists also being refused entry/service. Both were looking for a traditional Scottish experience and unfortunately, all they experienced was a...
I usually have strong opinions about the places I visit, but this time I'm unsure. The restaurant is small, accommodating over 40 guests, but struggles with large numbers. The food quality and quantity were below my expectations, barely reaching an "adequate" level. The soup was unrecognizable in both taste and appearance, and came in a meager portion. The main dish was small and lacked quality. An additional inconvenience is that hotel check-in is also in the restaurant, with access to the 8 rooms through the restaurant, which can be inconvenient with large luggage. The restaurant is not disability-friendly, with stairs leading from the street to the sidewalk, then up to the restaurant, and...
This was probably one of our favorite meals of our trip to Scotland (and we had a lot of good ones! . I got to try cullen skink and it was delicious! The server gave some excellent advice to my 10-year-old daughter in ordering the kids version of the mac and cheese by saying that she has seen grown men not be able to finish the adult version. (The kids portion was much more reasonable, cheaper and still delicious. And although my 14-year-old was disappointed that they were out of the veggie burger, the kitchen was able to pan-fry some salmon (not prepared that way on the menu , which came out great. My wife loved her veggie haggis. All in all, a great lunch! (And nice to hear the bagpipes fa... Book a table now
Visited here twice during the past 6 weeks, the last time on Friday 11 August. We went for coffee. We asked where we could sit to have coffee, they said find a seat. We then waited for around 15-20 minutes for someone to take our order, no one came. I went to the bar where 3 members of staff were chatting and asked if I could order. The response from one of the girls was oh you want to order. Coffee came no problem. This was almost the exact same that we had experienced around 6 weeks previous and about a year ago. It’s bizarre! I’m surprised they get any guests. It’s almost as if they want nothing to do with you unless you belong to the faculty in the NOC. Don’t waste your time going.
Had a xmas night out in the Piping Centre and had booked room for overnight stay. Positives: comfortable room/ compact and bijou/heating very quick to respond to alterations. Nice staff team, very accommodating. Great breakfast. Not so positive access is limited so if u have mobility issues, this isn't the hotel for you. I get that this is due to the age of the building. I had booked in July so wasn't aware that this was the case. Curtain coming away from lining, finish in the bathroom isn't great maybe some masking tape next time. Not sure I would return based on this visit as rather expensive for one person
The food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing, the service is brilliant, and the music sets the perfect Scottish mood. It's a lovely spot for families, couples, or friends to gather. Eddie's beautifully presented dishes melted in our mouths - the best food I've had in the 5 months I've been in Glasgow. Fergus provided excellent service, making us feel welcome and ensuring we were well taken care of. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Glasgow for a positive experience that will have you eager to return.
Very disappointing and not what I remembered. Ordered meatballs in tomato sauce with rösti potatoes. The meatballs were solid, unseasoned, had not been cooked in the sauce and were lukewarm. The sauce was a tin of chopped tomatoes which had ben warmed and that's it. The rösti potatoes weren't-they were mini potato croquettes. And to top it all off it took 40 minutes to drive and cost £17. Book a table now
As someone who travels frequently for work, this hotel was a refreshing break from my usual corporate stays. The staff are incredibly friendly, the rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable - I couldn't ask for more! I had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast, and both meals were excellent. Well done, team!
Rooms good and food top with interesting choices. Great location for central Glasgow. Highly recommend.
