It was our third time dining at Rex's and unfortunately it was a poor experience. The atmosphere is very nice for the south bay. Service was below average from previous visits and we hardly saw our waiter. I ordered a ribeye, but this meat was closer to flank steak and the sides were just ok. I had called ahead and when we arrived, reminded the hostess again about my wife's birthday so they could bring her a dessert. They forgot. Glad the martinis were good and the house cabernet was below average. Not sure if we'll be back.
We had an exhilarating experience at The Rex. We nearly didn't get a table, but luckily we managed to get in. Our waiter, Aaron, was exceptional and really enhanced our enjoyment of the meal. The food was quite good as well. The restaurant was extremely busy, and it was challenging to find, which made us late and almost caused us to be turned away. Overall, I would say the highlights were definitely Aaron and the food.
The staff was very welcoming and informative. Our server provided a lot of detail about our options for food and beverage. The noise level was almost intolerable. The food was beautifully presented, but very flat. I had the halibut, which was not flavorful, and the risotto was crunchy. The roasted mushrooms were similarly tasteless. I imagine the steaks must be better options.
Celebrated my birthday with dinner at The Rex. It was lovely. The staff signed a birthday card for me and I had a delicious meal of steak tartare, filet, brussel sprouts and good wine. My desert was complimentary and was absolutely delicious…the Sundae made with hazelnut soft serve. Wow. The service was excellent even though it was quite busy. Overall wonderful experience.

Amazing service, took my best friend for her birthday and she received a personal able birthday card signed by everyone. I thought that was really cool. Food was good, don’t hesitate to get the baby potatoes. Overall we enjoyed the food and we had a really good server. So shout out to Jordan
Great food, great service. Brody was our waiter and he was very attentive and had a wonderful table-side manner. Connor gave us great recommendation on wine and kept checking in with us to make sure all was good. And it was! We'll be back next time we're in town. Thanks everyone. ?
We had a fantastic dining experience at The Rex. The service, cocktails, and food were all excellent. The wedge salad was a highlight, and the béarnaise sauce that accompanied my tenderloin was exceptional. I can't wait to visit this neighborhood gem again!
This was a great culinary experience. Chef Nunez delivered and everyone from the hostess to the servers were all friendly and welcoming. I will definitely come back as everything was phenomenal.
