We were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! After a fun game of barefoot bowls at the club with my daughter, we decided to grab dinner at this Chinese restaurant. Despite the lack of atmosphere and the quiet night, the food was served quickly, hot, and absolutely delicious! We found this place to be a hidden gem, especially on a beautiful Sunday evening like tonight. The atmosphere was cozy and exactly what we needed. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The spring rolls, lemon chicken, Satay beef, honey king prawns, and sweet and sour pork were all fantastic! Overall, a great experience.
What was once a great Chinese eatery in the old Kensington RSL Club (RIP) and known far wide as the Rusty Shovel has moved to the Randwick Bowling Club and been re-born cleaned ! While the dining area is pretty unimposing , the...meals are still first rate and that 's why you visit ! Old school Chinese , not fancy, but fresh well priced plus the beer is cold when the Barman is not having a smoke ? Get in the Bowlo and try the Shovel !!
The chicken cashew nuts and the pork chow mein were very disappointing. The noodles were undercooked, the meat had a strange texture, and the sauce was overly oily. The dish was so unappetizing that none of the 7 of us enjoyed it. When we complained, the staff told us that customers don't usually complain about that dish, but why is it still on the menu if it's not good?
Do not eat here...I repeat...DO NOT EAT HERE. The worst place ever. Cleanliness, service, food were all terrible....I repeat...ALL terrible. I can’t understand how a place like this survives in the real world of competition. I was shocked by the quality of the food. Service...was non existent. Tables were filthy. Even the rats would give this place a wide berth.

had a ball with jacqui looking for the whole family, with big parents 85,85 and 91 the restaurant is easily accessible. Eating is a great quality with a great choice. Drinks at club prices and even cheaper when they sign up for a modest fee. come here...for years and recommend it
Honestly, the food at this restaurant was the worst I have had in a long time. None of the 8 of us could finish our meals because they were so bad. I feel ashamed that we didn't speak up and address the issue with the staff.
Great local chinese restaurant at Randwick Bowling Club. The food is fresh, delicious and very reasonably priced! It is a nice little relaxing local bowling club! Highly recommend!
Restaurant smell kichen(odour). Ordered soup and spring roll, then I didn’t eat it caused the spoon are rusty and not clean. Not Australian standard.
