We have been ordering from The Standard for a long time and already know how great the food is but I wanted to post a review to say thank you for our lunch which was delivered on Sunday. It was for a large group to celebrate a birthday so it was important to get everything right and we were not let down. The food arrived on time, in separate bags with the persons name on it, the food was hot and fresh tasting and everything was outstanding, with complimentary poppadoms and pickles. The age range at the birthday was between 20 and 88 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dishes. The food at this restaurant is delicious and the best Indian food I have tried in Oxford. Each dish has a distinct flavor. The service is excellent as well. However, the restaurant is very noisy due to the lack of soft furnishings to absorb the sound. Overall, the ratings are as follows: Dine-in service for dinner, costing £10-20 per person. The food at this cozy Indian restaurant was excellent as always. However, on a busy Saturday night with tables constantly being turned over, our bill was brought to us immediately after the main course was cleared, without us asking for it or being given a chance to order anything else.
