We were celebrating a birthday at The Club. It has been many years between visits atop RED Mountain. Beautiful sun set, clear skies over downtown Birmingham. A bird bath in the center of the veranda with a perfect jazz sax playing. Cool drinks and blinding sun this afternoon (a perfect opportunity for some smart companies to offer CHEAP SUNGLASSES) Shipt, Landed, TWG, Protective Life or DG. Plenty of people of all ages grandkids ,grandparents Strollers to wheelchair. The beverages were a plenty cold, flavorful and refreshing. The Okra Appetizer was plentiful served hot and tasty with the dipping sauce. The 5 of us order A shrimp topped tossed salad, filet, Short ribs pasta and burger. We rec...

According to an article from Garden and Gun, Birmingham played a significant role in inspiring Saturday Night Fever, the iconic 1977 film that sparked a worldwide disco phenomenon. The famous dance floor that John Travolta's character, Tony Manero, struts across is modeled directly after one in The Club. John Badham, the film's director, recalls that during their search for dance venues in New York City, they found that regardless of how fancy or unusual they were, all had worn-out hardwood or even dirty concrete floors. It was then he remembered The Club in Birmingham, with its unique circular plexiglass dance floor lit from beneath by red, green, blue, and yellow bulbs. Interestingly, I ha...
Over the past few months, I have been to The Club twice. One time was for a March of Dimes event and the other time (earlier this week) was for a NAACP event. Both times, the events were decorated nicely and the service from the staff was good. At the March of Dimes event, food was brought in so earlier this week was the first time I was able to try the food from this venue. I must say. I was not overly impressed by the food and neither were the other people at my table. It looked okay, but it was about a 5 or 6 on a scale from 1-10. I will say the dessert was decent, which was the only thing I finished. Another thing I noticed during my most recent visit was the top parking area for those w...
I feel like this is a great place to go for someone of means, but at the same time I didn't view the food as any type of world class that one would expect in an exclusive club. They don't allow people outside to pay for something, this club is invite only for membership. That being said there are some really beautiful views here and the service also seems pretty good! They have multiple indoor and outdoor bar areas and they have a stage in their events area where some really famous artists have played over the years! I'd say this is a pretty cool place. If you ever find yourself getting invited out here for some drinks or an event, I would accept the invitation for sure! The cocktails and th... Book a table now
Review fully based on service. Brought here as guests while visiting family in Birmingham, they were so excited to bring us to the club, everyone in our group were pretty upset by the service. Rudest server I've ever had! She spoke to us as if we were idiots, was really impatient when speaking to some of our elderly dinner guests and even walked away when we were in the middle of a question about the menu. I'm not sure if it's because everything goes on a tab so a tip is guaranteed or if she just had a shitty day and decided she didn't care about ruining a special dinner but it was pretty disappointing! Have had tons of Southern Hospitality while visiting Alabama but it wasn't at The Club! F...
I've been to The Club a few dozen times throughout my life. Maybe it's always been **** food or maybe I've grown to see what it really is but the food and service are ****. Sure the views and facilities are extraordinary but the true measure is food and service and both fall short. I just left a special event and the BBQ chicken sandwich was like sweet baby food. The chicken had been pulverized in a food processor until it was a grotesque paste. The Mac and Cheese was bland, tasting only of butter. The baked beans were straight from a can. The signature orange roll was okay but desperately needed salt. Every single dish was nursing home quality at best. It was embarrassing.
We were invited to come here before the quarantine hit. We came for their mardi gras night, which had a live band playing. We got there early to grab a table. We had a great time hanging out with friends and enjoying the food. The staff were all very courteous and prompt. We are not members, but I can see the appeal. There is an amazing view of the city. I could definitely enjoy sitting out there on a non hot, non rainy night. They have a few different restaurants inside. You can reserve areas for parties. They have valet parking, or you can park your car yourself. It seems to be a great place I can definitely see why so many people love this place.
I've been a member of The Club for some time now, and during that period, we've celebrated numerous joyful occasions. From my son's wedding to the 4th of July, New Year's Eve, birthdays, and both college and family reunions, it's been the perfect venue for our events. If you're in search of an event space, this is an excellent choice. The views of Birmingham from every room are breathtaking—truly stunning each time. I also enjoy simply relaxing on the patio with a drink or an appetizer. Book a table now
Considering the annual dues I pay and the prices of the food, I really wish the quality was more consistent. The food is never fantastic, yet the prices suggest it's a fine dining restaurant. The staff can also vary greatly in their service. Overall, the servers lack a sense of urgency, although you might encounter an exceptional one from time to time. Apart from the pleasant ambiance and the view of downtown, there's a lot that could be improved in your experience at The Club.
