We went on Friday night to see Father Christmas. We knew it wasnt just a run in a grab a present type thing we wanted this to be an experience and we most definitely got it. The children were asked to complete a form...about whether they'd be good, what they were thankful for and what they would like for Christmas. On completion they were guided around and told the nativity story. They met the wise men, saw an Inn keepers door and were led to a stable where the baby was lying. Visited Saturday evening as a group of Drinks orders took an age to arrive .Had to continuously try to get staffs attention to order drinks , water that we ordered before meal still hadn't arrived by the time we had finished our meal and...after asking for the time. When ordering our meals asked if the pate was smooth with the response of it's no bits in it if that's what you mean . I would expect any server to have at least basic knowledge of the menu. That said the food was amazing but unfortunately due to the poor customer service wouldn't visit again.
Recently visited with family and booked in for Sunday Lunch which was very good indeed. Nice warm welcome, lots of friendly staff. Nice interior and a good menu. The roast beef was very good indeed and great value. I had the sirloin steak which was...cooked to perfection. Great choice of beers and wines and they even have Pauliner on draught. We will be returning soon, fully recommended!

We held a wake for my father at The Wayfarer and we would just like to say that from making the booking to finally leaving the management and staff were absolutely superb.
