We’ve tried a number of plates at The Winstons. We keep going back to the Mr Kiehne’s southern chicken burger for $16 and the cheese burger with its smoky-flavoured patty also for $16. They’re big decent burgers served with fries. We cut them in half so we can share. It’s not food for the faint-hearted: fried and dripping in buffalo sauce, which is why it’s so delicious.
Last visit we also shared the chimichanga with black beans, Mexican rice, corn, zucchini and mozzarella wrapped up in a flour tortilla. Of course, a chimichanga is like a taco, but deep fried. Hmmm….We chose the mushrooms which took it just over the $20 threshold. But...

This is my local and I couldn't be happier about it. Very cool, welcoming pub with a tremendously varied audience. Kids, workers, hipsters, musicians, families and mates all jumbled up in a classic neighbourhood bar. Great beers and ciders on tap and the menu will have you thinking you're eating in Chicago (and if you haven't actually done that, take my word for it, that's good!). Good pool table, live music sometimes, lots of conversation always. The food is American because one of the owners is American and she cooks her Mom's recipes with style and generosity. The real deal, this place.

The Winston is not like any other pub. American / Australian design theme thinks that it has an identity crisis, but irrespective of that it has a great feeling for it. Grief

Very inner north of Melbourne feel. Cool and trendy. Absolutely packed on a sunday. Cool atmosphere with billiards, arcade games and live music. Cheap as chips, but delicious food. American Stilburger and those. Amazing onion rings and hot dogs. Large selection of Tap beer. Would love that as my local.
Great pub atmosphere. We ordered the Big meat plate to share together. Everything on the plate was pretty well cooked. My favorite thing was definitely the Mac and the cheese. The service was great! The bartender let us try a few drinks before we decided what we wanted.
Fantastic brisket, cheeseburger could have been a bit more cheese, but the quesadilla was easy not to crowded and extremely delicious. Come there on a Friday at 17:30, and it was managed to get the last table, the place pumped. Took our 1 year, so child friendly

The service is fast, get a bit earlier, as we had to wait for a table to open on a Sunday night.

Great food. Worth the waiting time. Tried the atomic wings. Hottest things I ate. Could only have 2 out of 3. Went with my wife and a 2 year old daughter. Child friendly. Good service. Friendly staff.
Extremely delicious food !! Excellent choice for one night with friends! A MUST attempt is the beef broth! Also the chicken quesadilla and the muddy burger!
