We used to be regular customers here, but stopped going when they reopened from the pandemic because the service was slow (and rude) and the food quality had deteriorated. However, we decided last night to give them another try. Our food was good and our waiter was attentive. However, we arrived at 8:30, received our food around 8:45, and when we asked for a second beer right around 9 PM (closing time), we were told by the manager, Hector, that they couldn 't serve us because they were closed . We felt rushed and packed up our food and left. On the way to our car, the security guard, a relative of the manager, asked why we were upset and we told him. I was working in the area and decided to eat Mexican food. Tia María's is pretty big inside. I was seated in a booth. The chips and wonderful salsa were served. The salsa was warm and the chips not too greasy. This place is not ideal for vegetarians. I believe everything on the lunch specials menu has meat. I ordered three fish tacos. You get three on double corn tortillas. The accompanying side of rice is generous. Plus you get avocado, red cabbage and a sort of ranch dressing. The serving is generous and reasonably priced, about $10. Music is ranchera. I overheard a waiter call a client jefe. Now why wasn't I called jefa.
Tex mex as zesty as the people that inspired it.Security guard on duty for the lunch specials, Rico Suave is never a theme intended here. Having witnessed many bad behaviors that should have made Grizzy's hood news, but maybe have been redacted.The food is great here, tex mex is not supposed to be on Chef Ramsey's menu. As long as the there is a good kick, tons of calories and drinks arrive fast, what else do u need?Love the service, the food and not so much the war like atmosphere. But I am not holding the restaurants to the rowdy walmart quality clientele.
My wife I recently ordered a delicious early dinner on Friday evening (5:45) via Uber Eats. I had fajita beef enchiladas with double refried beans no rice (enchiladas covered in cheese gravy) and my wife had a dinner plate with various items. Our meals arrived in under 30 minutes and were still piping hot. The food was delicious Tia Maria's has become our new favorite order in Tex Mex for whenever we don't feel like going out.
