Whilst staying at Bateman's Bay, with friends we referred to Trip Advisor, as is our usual practise, to guide us to a good restaurant serving fresh seafood. Trapper's Steak & Seafood came up with glowing reviews & a menu full of delicious seafood choices, listing scallops, seafood platters etc. we called and booked for dinner, asking if lobster was available. When we arrived at 7pm the restaurant was full of elderly bus groups on the way to Sydney, our table had not been prepared even though we had booked well in advance. But the biggest disappointment was the minimal seafood selection. Apart from oysters & prawns on the entree selection, the only other seafood was fish in the mains, in fact...
Staying at the Sunseeker Motel in Batemans Bay we decided to stay close to home one night and tried out Trappers Steak and Seafood Restaurant and it turned out to be the best meal we had in BB by a long shot. Steaks perfectly seasoned and cooked to order, delicious fish and seafood, excellent staff and alright pricing (maybe a bit high but for everything else involved we were willing to pay the bit extra. Fantastic overall and well worth stopping in to eat here. We will be back.
This restaurant is located at the Best Western Bateman's Bay Sunseeker motel. It is easy to forget this restaurant is here with the focus on the others that are clustered on the pier, however, this is open when many others are closed in low peak times. It is also much better than most. Highly recommend this place for excellent steak and seafood with excellent service.
I visited trappers on 2 occasions during the week. It is a beautiful romantic intimate place to dine. The food is to die for. Entrees mains desserts and cheese platter were all delicious. Wine list although not extensive was good. The staff were prompt and friendly. My only reservation is it is a little bit on high side price wise but well with it

**** sensational barramundi. The skin was crispy and beautifully seasoned. I also had soft shell crab which was very tasty. It's not something that I eat regularly, so its hard to benchmark. I was staying at the attached motel, and was going to go out for dinner. I'm incredibly glad I didn't.
A quiet night with four other tables being served and the service was very good without being pushy. Nice atmosphere and the food was very good indeed. We had entrée, main and desert. This restaurant is a hidden gem. The portions were generous as well.
The drinks menu is varied, the food is exceptional and the service is far beyond what I expected. My waiter Ronnie was attentive and well versed in the wine list and the menu. his knowledge of the local area was both informative and useful.
Though we had driven past it as signage was poor. the service was just WOW... the food was absolutely mouth watering and I seriously could have eaten more. Recommended for a romantic night as the atmosphere was great!
