Nous avons visité ce restaurant dans le cadre d'un forfait "food tour" de cuisine indienne, accompagné d'un guide qui nous a organisé un accès a la cuisine. Le gentil propriétaire nous a expliqué les 2 plats qui étaient fabriqués devant nous et que nous avons mangés. Les pois chiches en sauce servis avec une grande galette frite étaient fantastiques C'est ce que nous avons mangé de meilleur de toute notre soirée de dégustation. À notre prochaine visite à Toronto, c'est un arrêt obligatoire.
Went on the advice of a friend who suggested the dosa. We tried some onion pakora, a spring and a paneer dosa as well as lime soda (sweet/salty). The pakora was light on the onion and heavy on the coating as well as being a little bland. The dosas were good but not stunningly so. The lime juice was also spiced with a little too much cumin. Ice was additional. Would return to try other dishes but not in a while.
I recently visited Updupi Palace as a stop on the Culinary Adventure Companies, Indian Food Tour. This was my favourite restaurant of the 5 we visited on Gerrard St East, the staff was very kind and welcoming and served wonderful food. The food served was fresh and authentic, delivering a vary of delicious spices. Overall a wonderful experience and will most definitely come back again.
Même s'il n'est pas très invitant de l'extérieur comme à l'intérieur, ce resto sert d'excellents plats indiens végétariens. Les serveurs étaient très sympatiques et nous ont fait préparer à notre demande des mets à partager. Un de mes enfants ne voulait pas y manger mais s'est finalement régalé. Bon choix à bon prix! This restaurant is located in little India side and easily accessible by metro and streetcars. We went to woodbine beach and walked from there to the restaurant. The ambience and service is good. We tried their thali, which had roti,rice, sambhar rasam and two to three vegetables. We really relished all the items.
I was not impressed by this place when I went two years ago. Maybe I caught it on a bad night? Or did they do an overhaul of the food (the decor stayed the same). Everything tastes right this time. The thali was quite good, and a little spicy. If they can keep up this quality, I will be back.
8 of us went there for dinner. Admittedly they were busy .but that is not an excuse for screwing 5 orders . We waited for an hour for both overcooked and overcooked variety of dishes.. we will not be going Back. Btw they add15%gratuity on the bill do not give them a tip on top if you do go.
Satisfying even for non-vegetarian. Paper dosa was large but quite bland, Paratha also bland; Onion Rava Masala Dosa was delicious. Restaurant was spacious with very simple tables and chairs and decorations that put you smack dab in southern India. Book a table now
Very few Indian restaurant taste authentic. This is one of them. Located in little India, $30 can fill two people for dinner. Best tasting vegetarian food in that area. Its like udupi restaurant in Bombay, one of my favourite.
