We went here for a Sunday lunch to celebrate a friend's We hadn't been before but chose it based on tripadvisor reviews and because it was the runner up in the Suffolk pub of the year. I think that probably for a drinker's pub...and for locals it is fine. But for food, we were really disappointed. The menu was already really limited but made worse by there being only one of several of the items available and this at so heaven help anyone eating later. The meals themselves were far from the best with the so-called chips being boiled potatoes, slightly fried. Of the meals ordered were okay (fortunately our guests's ones) and were pretty poor. Desert was scoops of average ice cream only in a te...

Hello we recently had a family night out and although we usually visit the Brantham Bull or Stutton kings head for family meals we decided on the Tattingstone Wheatsheaf for a change of scenery First impressions were its a quiet local pub and the food...and service was of a good standard Food and drink were reasonably priced for a country pub with a good variety of choice suitable for most peoples requirements Now the bad part for most of our meal the lady who i assume was the landlady was constantly moaning and complaining with the women at the bar about her ex or some poor man who had done her wrong and seemed to spend sometime plotting some dark revenge on this poor soul By the end of our...
My wife and I visited this lovely country pub a few weeks back on our way to London. We dropped in on a Saturday lunchtime and found a warm homely pub, with a real fire, real beers and as it turned out real food. We...had Ham egg and chips and although many would suggest it is difficult to mess this simple meal up, I would also suggest that not many do it as well as the Wheatsheaf. Very nice thick cut locally produced Ham, Eggs from their own chickens and homemade chips which had obviously been triple cooked and not boiled and fried as someone else has suggested! Even the tomato sauce was homemade! In this day and age, country pubs have to stand out, and in my opinion the Wheatsheaf certainl...
my car had a tire trip straight on the road and I parked in the wheatsheaf parking to wait for a recreational vehicle. I was simply shopping and had chilled and frozen foods that are probably affected by the extreme heat on the day. anna. has agreed to put the food in their refrigerator and freeze until it could be collected a few hours later. thank you for your quality being very appreciated! it's not a good meal. the pub is a bit untidy and chaotic, but this is a real village local. there is a large selection of cask beer and eating is simple and easy. ham, ei and chips were my choice, and the eggs were of the chickens in the garden. the service was friendly and pleasant and the prices very reasonable. maybe not for a first date, but definitiw worth a visit.
We visited this pub for lunch today with friends We enjoyed our lunch A small menu but very good tasty homemade food The pub had a good feel about it warm with two fires burning giving a good welcome on a very cold day A...friendly and relaxed atmosphere We would visit again
what a great place. beautiful fire with cozy seating. we had lunch last week. wonderful meal times round and so good worth. we should come back. also beautiful outside area for the summer. friendly and helpful staff.
the wheatsheaf never stops falling. I have never known such super kept beer, directly from the barrel and always a good selection for different flavors. this pub is a great foundation for the home and away Book a table now
