Second review for this local lunch favourite - due to several recent disappointing meals which included poorly cooked gyoza on multiple occasions (not properly heated through and lacking a crisp exterior). The edamame tasted slightly fishy, (possibly from having been kept close to fish products in the fridge). The edamame was old produce (kept too long) - it was not fresh - with some beans mushy and brown, and tasting like damp soil, and with a limp texture and poor colour on the outside shells. It was also Poorly salted - and lacking in overall flavour. This dish was a complete failure.Several servings of Udon soup with tempura vegetables ( which has sometimes been overly salty). The tempura...

Came dinner tonight, and so glad we did it! Everything was fantastic. The soft-crowned crab was cooked to perfection, and the Gyoza was one of the best I had. Partly damped, part grilled. Perfect textures. My partner went for the salmon-Main and loved it as I decided for the Wagyu Bento box, so that I could try the Sashimi too. The meat was cooked perfectly with such a stunning aroma, and the fish was so fresh and delicious. (Oh and the idea to marry shrimp and eggushi in an amazing layer cake of Nigiri-kindness !!!) The Miso side was rich and more ... one of the best I had for years. Grief Grief Beat your buck? We went a full and happy for about $ 40 a head. BYO wine fits a T. fantastic qua...

We came here our first night in Sydney, looking for something close to the hotel as we were tired. We had looked up some of the places close by and decided to check this out as it had good reviews. I had the bento box with the beef and it was so delicious! The beef was melt in your mouth tender as was the sashimi. Also, it was a good amount of food; my husband helped me finish it as there was too much for me. He had a beef yakisoba dish that he really enjoyed as well. Everything was well presented and we'll definitely be going back before we leave Sydney! Book a table now

I ordered a Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box and what I got was not what I expected. I got a large plate full of delicious salads, fresh fish and teriyaki chicken. It wasn't too expensive (~$26) and for what you got, it was certainly worth it. Only issue I had was there was no rice so it was a different experience to me. Absolutely loved all the fresh fish. Our water glasses were always full and the service was a little slow, but it was peak time at 1pm. Would definitely recommend going here for a satisfying and authentic Japanese meal!

3 overall for my dinning experience considering the atmosphere here was fantastic. However food itself was only worth 2. To me, it's a bit over priced and Sashimi is not that fresh.  It's the first time i saw some chefs will get together and took a pic on the plate they prepared before serving, it looked not that professional. Also it is the first time i had a bento box but rice is not included. PS, this is a Japanese restaurant run by all Korean.

We had a great meal at Yama Gardens. The food was excellent, especially the sashimi. The setting upstairs is lovely and relaxing. The BYO option for wine makes the price very affordable.

I spent a good part of my meal trying to decide if I would sound either pretentious or bogan-esque if I said I preferred the tempura at Opera House. Book a table now
