Hungover and without my car to go and collect from my usual Chinese, I opted to use JustEat to place an order at somewhere which delivered. I was recommended this place by a friend (he must've been on the wind up) so I thought I'd...give it a go. Big mistake. I placed the order on JustEat before the restaurant had opened. JustEat gave me a delivery time of which the restaurant then confirmed when it opened. We've ordered from here in the past and the food was always excellent. We ordered tonight Christmas Eve via the website at knowing full well it would be a really busy night and we would probably be waiting longer than the minutes. After hours minutes and nothing arriving, we rang the restaurant. We were told it's already out for delivery and that they were busy (understandable). minutes later and still no food. We rang again... and the same woman told us it's being cooked now it'll be half an hour So completely dishonest and told us a blatant lie. Food eventually arrived at An absolute disgrace. They quite clearly just took as many orders as they could on a busy night without thinking about...
I Placed a preorder on their own website at for pick up at Went to pick up at and they had not even started my order. Presumably they had not even bothered to check their own website for orders. Had to wait...another minutes for my order to be made. People who where waiting in the shop for their orders, who hand ordered over the phone at got their orders before me. When I got home. My house special fried rice had prawns in, a couple of pieces of chicken, one piece of pork and beef. For that is absolutely shocking and disgusting for the price. The chips were not fully cooked and the sweet and sour chicken and prawn Hong Kong style had no taste. Very expensive compared to other Chinese takeawa...

This is the time we have ordered from here having found it difficult to get decent asian food since we moved to the North East. Regarding delivery time, it was late once just before (New Years Eve) and they explained and apologised straight away...so cannot fault them. The food has always been amazing quality and really great value. I don't know how it's getting such bad reviews as we have never had an issue and the delivery guy is lovely too.
It’s the first time we’ve ordered from Yangtze River, Whitley Bay and we were really impressed. We are a family of so ordered lots of different starters and mains duck pancakes were delicious, satay, beef fried rice, kubo, sweet and sour and garlic...spring onion were all really really tasty. Food arrived a little late but was piping hot and we all agreed will order again! Great takeaway!
huhn chow maine is terrible over boiled chicken and just pieces. roasted rice fat chips ok curry sauce is tasteless and watery. Delivery says came in I just live a few minutes away, but still surprised how thought takes longer to cook. I have to eat. to be precooked early food was just a few chips to eat.

the food came after about hours (on a week night). first spoon of rice/curry sauce had the longest black hair inside, unfortunately I only recognized this in my mouth. of course, I just couldn't have eaten after that....
Food was all hot and tasty... ordered for collection and was ready on time. Will use them again in the future.
