If you ever played tea party as a child and loved imagining all the amazing food and tea you would serve your guests, that place has come to life! Adonia is a charming tea house and has been my favorite place for lunch for many years. This tea house is quaint and just like a charming old English Tea House. The atmosphere is always great and the delicate taste of everything they have to offer is out of this world. The ingredients are always fresh and all of their salads and sandwiches are prepared with care and always have an artistic approach to how they are plated. One of my personal favorites is the Lobster Bisque! Their signature high-tea towers compliment their large selection of teas an...

Since going gluten free I had not been back to Adonia, one of my all time favorite places to go for High Tea. I was so pleased to hear that they offered a gluten free one, and was there today with a friend. The décor and ambience at Adonia is lovely, conducive to relaxing and good conversation with friends. If there is just two of you, try to reserve one of the tables for two at the front of the shop.My friend had the classic High Tea and myself the gluten free option. Both of us were presented with fabulous food and the only reason I did not give an 'excellent' rating was because I did not get a scone. A scone is a classic part of a high tea and while I certainly did not miss out in any way...
We were here for the Mini High Tea (21 dollar per person). This nice urban location is easy to find. Just past McDonalds, same side (for those who are familiar with Kerrisdale neighborhoud). A very cozy interior with oil paintings, colorful fresh orchids. Beautiful Royal Albert Fine Bone China. Soft sound of recorded Classical Music. Loose leaf teas from Germany. High Tea's 2-tiered offer of tiny sandwiches and desserts for two was very pleasant to our eyes. However all sandwiches were made with white bread, which in our opinion was a weak point of the presentation. 2 scones (a cheese and a cranberry) were very good. The service was outstanding. The Tea House was well visited. Four tables wer...
Was walking down with the family and saw this tea place. Thought we would try this place. Like the decor, very quaint little place. We didn't have reservations but we only waited 10 mins before they could sit us. My decaf Earl Grey tea was very weak, I was surprised and did not enjoyed it. The kids had the strawberry kiwi tea which was so so. Their comment was "taste like flavoured water". We had just came from lunch and wasn't hungry and decided to try their sampler dessert. The dessert was pretty to look at, I like the chocolate piece but the rest were average. We also shared a cheesecake which taste like it had just came out from the freezer. Service was ok, they did refill hot water with... Book a table now
I came across the Adonia Tea House by accident. Truth be told, I was going to visit a thrift shop a few doors down, and it was closed. So, I kept on walking and found Adonia. How lucky I am! The afternoon tea was delicious. Everything, from the large varieties of tea (I chose Darjeeling), to the sandwiches, scones and dessert cakes was outstanding. As trite as this may sound, everything tasted like it was made with care and concern. The service was friendly but not imposing. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
First, you need to make a reservation, the room is very small and because it is very small the tables are packed close and tight. Our waitress was not friendly at all. What we like: the tea selection is very large and their teas are excellent. We also like the high tea, and the food selection. I don't know if it was luck or not but the food was much better than my high tea at Secret Garden and it is cheaper. We will be back maybe with a friendlier waitress....
The atmosphere/ decor here is quite good, the service left something to be desired and the food was not great. I have done afternoon tea at many different locations and this place just isn't that great. It's not horrible, but the wait staff is not particularly friendly and the food is not particularly good. I have been twice, once in 2013 and once just recently, in Oct 2016 and both times I had an identical experience. I won't be visiting a third time.
The waitress had no smile whatsoever and was moody the whole time my friend and I was there. She had NO manners! Extremely expensive for such bad services. I don't know if the waitress was racist or just a plain B****. The waitress kept looking down my friend and I. I guess we weren't "classy enough for her. However, I did enjoy the food. I would totally recommend the one near point grey. Book a table now
Adonia serves the best afternoon tea in Vancouver, in my opinion. I have been there many times mostly for afternoon tea but also for lunch and have a catered lunch for pick up. Everything is fresh and there are extras that you don't expect such as appetizers and little dessert dishes that are included in the price, which is reasonable by Vancouver standards.
