The owners of this local gem are hardworking individuals who have positively impacted the community by providing affordable meals for thousands of students. I'm tempted to give them that fifth star just for their dedication and success over the past 20 years. It feels almost unreasonable to elevate a hot dog to such a high status, unless you enjoy a drink beforehand. The hot dogs here are excellent—juicy and generously served in warm poppy seed buns, customizable with your favorite toppings. The menu is budget-friendly, quick, and offers a nice variety typical of a small pub, all in a casual and relaxed setting. Let’s support this team by eliminating the strip tax!
I would NOT recommend this place to ANYONE! My husband ordered an beef and sausage combo with red sauce and fries. First off the sandwich was small. The meat was different colors. The smell was awful. They gave us spoiled food! We took it back told them about it and asked for a refund. As we were leaving the lady said our food not spoiled and don't ever in your life come back here. And I won't. I'm from the Chicago area and that's no where near Chicago food!
Seriously underrated longtime Carbondale eatery owned and run by local family. Cheap GOOD food. Fairly quick service. Inside leaves a little bit to be desired in the dining area but when you look at the cost of and quality of the food, it's fine! Everything is a la carte and the menu is rather extensive, but I can't properly explain how good it is.
Some of the worst food in Carbondale. Everything is so greasy that it drips off the food and covers anything it touches. The interior is dusty and looks like it hasn't been deep cleaned in a decade.It truly boggles the mind how this shell of a restaurant has managed to stay open while so many other, better restaurants have closed.

I first visited this restaurant back in 2003 when I started my studies. Having lived in Carbondale for the past 16 years, I have enjoyed dining here every time. The food is great, it’s locally owned, and the couple who runs it are really friendly.
I really enjoy Chicago-style hot dogs, and I believe many people in Carbondale are missing out. They offer gyros, Chicago’s original pizza puffs, Chicago hot dogs, and many other delicious items on the menu.
