I noticed that the waitstaff, who used to dance in the aisles, didn't do so this time. I'm not sure if they still have that tradition. Very bad experience. Manager Amber Rider was rude. I'll never go back. atmosphere like a freak show, stop singing / dance every 15 min, had fake bride and groom ceremony etc. Creepy! Crane Nachos were soggy, so we asked that they took our bill and ordered a more expensive article $30 Krübe Eimer) in his place, as my son was still hungry. The manager Amber Rider refused to withdraw Nachos and would give me only half credit for the Nachos, which says it was their corporate policy. Most aspects of this restaurant are excellent. The seafood is very delicious, especially if you like fried seafood. But the restaurant itself is what distinguishes Joe’s Crab Shack from other fish restaurants. The whole place is decorated with funny doodads related to the sea, and many sea related pictures. You may see a rubber shark hanging on the ceiling, and then a look on the left could give you an amusing picture of a crab. This restaurant is a decent spot for enjoying drinks and a meal with friends. The location is excellent, and the service is prompt. However, it’s not one of the more upscale dining options in Newport. One thing to watch out for is the valet attendants; they can be quite sneaky! No matter what bill you hand them, it seems to disappear into their pockets, and they start scurrying around with keys and paperwork without providing any change. You may end up noticing that your tip is significantly higher than the valet fee!

On holiday with the family collapsed. It was empty and we were the only people there until we finished our meal. Portions were big and delicious. Most of the non-steam tank options were all fried and heavy. It was a nice lunch and food was good, but had nothing to do with it.
I came here for a while to celebrate a friend's birthday. The waiters had dressed him like a cow and walk around the restaurant with the broom. He was a crack that night. I love the different seafood dishes. Especially the crimp and shrimp.
Kid friendly, but a little loud. Service was not so great and I had to remind the server more than once for parts of our order. The staff was friendly. The menu is almost all crabs, so don't go there to search for fish or other seafood.
Joe's crab has the freshest snow crab around and the best taste for the cheapest price. Come here when you are in the mood for crabs and the snow crab with old bay season. This is a small piece of heaven
