I found this place on google, while looking for a place to try some actual Hawaiian food on the cheap. I ordered the Kailua pork and cabbage plate and Spam musubi, my husband got the mix bbq plate, my son got a chili dog combo, and my daughter got a cheeseburger and fries (not pictured). Upon first inspection my meal seemed to have almost no pork, but after a bit of differ I found a lot under the cabbage, it was great with a bit of hot sauce. The macaroni salad was tasty, my kids loved it. My son and I both enjoyed the spam musubi, have nothing to compare it to but I would eat it again. Better than average breakfast right at 11 am (their ending time for breakfast). 5 regular sausage links (by choice, bacon and Portuguese sausage were others), two hard fried eggs, four half slices of toast ended up being two meals. No indoor seating, but plenty of nice outdoor tables in the shade, which is why I would sort of list this as dine in. Fast service. Good quality for $5.99 plus tax. I still think the L&L chain has a lot to learn about barbeque from restaurants in the southern (US) mainland and their claim to being Hawaii 's best barbeque is dishearting but this was a good breakfast.
L&L Hawaiian Barbecue serves quick, flavorful dishes with a wide selection of meats such as chicken, ribs, fried fish, and pork. We chose the family dinner, which included ample sides of fries, macaroni, rice, and cabbage. The servings were hearty, and the staff was welcoming. You can dine indoors with limited seating or relax outside in the courtyard, enjoying the fresh air and a stunning sunset.
This little shop was fantastic! I am so glad we did not pass it up. Great breakfast. A bed of sticky rice, 2 eggs perfectly cooked, 2 slices of Spam, 3 strips of bacon, and 2 coffees and under $10! Great customer service, remembers customers that are usually there and treats them like family. It is cooked to order but faster than McD's!

I've heard from several people that this place offers some of the most authentic breakfast options on the Big Island. We tried the garlic ahi and mahohi breakfast, and the fish was absolutely delicious! Everything else was great too. I definitely need to sample more items from the menu before I leave. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
Been looking for Saimin a traditional Hawaiian noodle soup all over Kona area. What a gem. Ordered w extra veggies it was huge. Everything else on the menu is pretty traditional and super low priced. Where else can you get a meal for less than $10 these days. Lots of locals go in and out. No tourists. Very glad for the find.

Best place hands down for breakfast in Kona!!! Especially if you have a big group it was the only place I paid under $100 for breakfast and not only was the price right the food was the best! I enjoyed the spam, egg, and French toast plate, the hash was good the Portuguese sausage just yummy!!!
