Mixed opinion: on the one hand we appreciated the very good service, the cheese platter and the self-service concept for desserts. On the other hand, the dishes generally lack taste subtlety in view of the prices charged: here we are closer to a good brasserie than to a bistro. Friendly chalet style setting but relatively high density of tables so the restaurant can be a little noisy smells of cheese from neighboring tables. In short, a place for bon vivants that would be worth the detour if the prices were 20% cheaper.
Our favourite restaurant for celebrating family events for over 20 years. This time it was our 45th wedding anniversary and it was as good as ever, albeit more expensive since they’ve dropped the fixed price menus. The boudin starter is a house speciality and not to be missed. My wife was equally impressed by the smoked salmon panacotta. Our evening was enhanced by the attentive, thoughtful and pleasantly humorous service from our waiter, Richard.
This house, outside the town centre, deserves to be known. Two words summarize it: authenticity and professionalism. Authenticity in the warmth of the welcome, in the home products, in the decoration. Professionalism in the service, which changes a lot of amateur from most restaurants in Chamonix. Anyway, go have fun or celebrate an event, you'll be happy!
Restaurant was full on Saturday night but service and personal were very efficient ! Lovely deco like old chalet ! Menu is not big We had nice appetizers ! Plus bread with butter Excellent choices of wines Tournedos Rossini was well done Great place to try and worth it if you are in Chamonix

Perfect for the taste buds. Lunch in the garden with “brasero” option on Thursday lunchtime, it was perfect. We always have an excellent time at Maison Carrier and the service is impeccable.
We had a very enjoyable family meal at La Maison Carrier. Everything from the food including the tempting desert table, and the service was impeccable! We will return soon.
