A Sunday night when we did not feel like cooking so we tried this local restaurant. Situated close to the waterfront at Yerrabi,the restaurant is very welcoming, with a nice ambiance and an individual decor derived from the owners attached antique gallery.Staff very pleasant and helpful in explaining the Persian style of cooking and the spices used inits preparation. Service was good and the meals well presented and very tasty. If anything the meals are on the large size and there would be sufficient food to share two courses.The food mainly comprises of a wide range of Kebabs which are very superior to the take away variety. About 6 friends and myself booked a table at this restaurant. There was only 1 waitress for the whole evening with the two owners cooking at the back. Service was extremely poor, waited 15 mins to be offered drinks, drinks came out in 20 mins, then waited another 30 mins to be asked what we would like to order. Food came out at least 45 minutes later. Pathetic!! And no apologies received what so ever from the staff. Food was mediocre. Will not be going back there again.
A piece of heaven in the middle of Canberra. This Persian restaurant has the best authentic Persian food. very cheap compated to other restaurants and higher quality. Staff are very friendly and make u feel at home. It is BYO. Very nice atmosphere. I am from Newcastle and I was visiting Canberra. I found this highly rated restaurant on google search and it didn't let me down. I will definitely visit this restaurant next time I'm in Canberra.
Only our second time here and again - all expectations met and exceeded! Highly original, authentic yet personal (like a family) environment, sincere service, relaxed and comfy, and the food! A++ entrees, incredible mains - we will be back! (& with our friends). Really wonderful to have such quality ethnic options like this in Gungahlin & the capital.

You will enjoy the cuisine and true Persian atmosphere at the Saffron room. Truely a hidden treasure to be experienced at Gungahlin ACT. The staff are delightful. The food is light, fresh and spiced so perfectly so that your taste buds can savour every mouthful without being overwhelmed. An absolute delight.
This restaurant has been our family favorite for a while now. The food are authentic, freshly made and delicious. The stews and kababs are really amazing! The only thing you need to be aware is the food preparation time can be a bit long, especially during busy periods. But it's worth the wait!
We are here on a Saturday night, it was full but still relaxed. The Lady serving was delightful and helped us choose our meals. The food was great. The only downside was that it took over an hour for the meals to arrive. It was a lovely restaurant though... Will definitely go back midweek.
Nicely decorated restaurant right across the lake. The menu comprises a range of authentic Persian dishes, including vegetarian options. I wish they had a larger range of desserts though. The owners are very friendly and the staff too.

Did not know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is furbished with Persian furniture and décor. The food was very tasty and the service was excellent.
The food was well presented and very interesting flavours. BYO your own wine with no additional charge was also appreciated
