delicious food and great service!! our party of 4 came around opening time and we were lucky to be seated at the bar. the restaurant was busy the entirety of our meal, so i would definitely recommend making a reservation. we ordered a spicy mongoose roll, unagi cucumber roll, and shiono boat deluxe (sashimi, hawaiian volcano roll, shrimp/soft shell crab tempura, chicken/beef teriyaki). we enjoyed everything we ordered and the portion of food was perfect for 4 people. our favorites were the hawaiian volcano roll, which was unique and flavorful, and the beef teriyaki which was cooked perfectly. overall i would definitely recommend this restaurant when on the big island!!
Great place for sushi in Kona! We had two different rolls Hawaiian Volcano and the Lobster roll both so very delicious!! The place was so busy, clearly everyone knows this place is a gem!! Thank you! I came with a group of 7 with a baby they charged for having a party of 8 or more. Also service was extremely slow. The tables that got sat after us got food before our party. Food was alright. Could be because I was pregnant at the time but I dream/crave about the Ten Zaru Soba dish. No one sells cold soba noodles around where I live so I might have to fly to Kona again just to satisfy the craving.

As on-site review noted, 8/31/2023 was Sushi Shiono's last night. It will be missed as a favorite sushi spot on the Kona coast.
Sushi Shiono has been a favorite of mine for over a decade. I am so distraught that they are closing.
