I am a frequent visitor to the old civic. Great selection of food with a slight Mexican feel and friendly staff. They always accommodate for my pram and service is always amazing. Tried a lot of different items off the menu and have never been disappointed. Although would love to see the French toast come back to the breakfast menu. Would highly recommend.
I visited The Old Civic for lunch on a Thursday with some work colleagues. I ordered 'The Wise Guy' burger & chips and a mocha to drink, which cost $20.70 in total. My burger was delicious and was served on a wooden chopping board and my coffee also tasted nice. Overall the food and coffee were both great, and the decor and atmosphere nice.
I've been here a few times, and the food is usually OK. Today however the chef appears to have forgotten how to clean the grill. Whilst the food wasn't burnt, it tasted burnt due to cookie on a grill that was not clean. Looking at the grill as I left confirmed it was covered in black ash. The service is however good, as is the coffee.
On our first visit we really enjoyed the burgers and chips. The Wise Guy and the one with chicken schnitzel were both quality. Not so impressed with the coffees, though the shake was good. Order and pay at the counter and take a number. Book a table now
There is no doubt the food is fresh and tasty. But I did a order to go for work colleagues and found the servings were smaller than usual and the price was put up. Perhaps the only way is to eat in house. Still an ok meal though
Came here for some takeaway coffee. It's a local hangout and busy. Usually bustling especially on weekends & nice vibe. Good Campos coffee! They have opened another branch called The New Civic at Glenrose Shopping Centre.

"Excesses freshly remaining oysters with a fantastic glass white while we watch the sun over the boats at the Spieß-Marina! I ask you ... On a Balmin summer evening in Sydney where would you prefer to be! Only 10 minutes booked before he arrived so happy to get the best table closest to the water! FULL HOUSE BTW. Baby snapper with olives, grapes and capers and black angus with caramelized onions and rocket salad. Tiramisu to exclude everything. Who cares when the service is a small "Fiji time". I am chilled and watched the sunset."
