Over the years we have had some enjoyable meals and some good times at the Vietnam Village. However some take away recently bought from there was very poor.The spring rolls were dry and tasteless and the wontons may as well have been pieces of dough. The lemon grass chicken was chewy with a lot of gristle and the sweet and sour pork had very little pork. Both dishes were more than half liquid,The Belconnen area now has some quite good Asian restaurants such as the Regal and the Sanur and if the Vietnam Village wants to survive it is going to have to lift its game.
Visited with large family group over three generations. Menu is extensive and reasonably priced with good portions. All diners found the food to taste and leftovers were very few even though good quantities were ordered.Wine is BYO, a bottle shop is next door.Service was quick and personable though English is clearly not the first language.Location is only so so in residential Canberra street shopping mall and dining surrounds are quite modest; our visit was a very cold winter evening in Canberra and heaters only just kept up with diner demands.
Tonight was my third visit to this restaurant and I had an opportunity to take a closer look at the decor- while the decor is old fashioned and tired I'm more concerned about the dust bunnies hanging from the wall the dirty greasy light fittings and the filthy black light switch on the right as you go into the premises which brought me to wonder what the kitchen must look like.This will be my last visit the place is just too dirty
The dishes were only 1/4 full in the containers and when I questioned why I was told that that was the standard serve. The spring rolls were cold dry and tasted awful. They forgot to add one of the boiled rices as well. I am totally appalled with the amount served for the price it cost and the food was below average. I will never ever ever eat from this place again.

First time getting food from here. I got take-away on a Saturday night. Entree got Satay sticks they were tasteless & cold, spring rolls were ok but also a bit cold. Main was peppercorn beef which was nice, chicken stir fry was ok. Fried rice not too bad. Overall an ok meal at a budget price. I will be trying other Vietnamese restaurants before I go back.
We have been coming to this restaurant for over 30 years. It is still the best value for money Asian restaurant in ACT in our opinion. No flash decor, just good genuine Vietnamese food at very good price. Getting more popular these days though! Try the 8 ingredients soup, or the salt pepper squid, or the caramilised chicken. You'll love it!
We've been to this local 3 times, the first 2 times were fine but it's now changed owners and the food and the service are both 100% terrible. Would like to find a positive but there's nothing there. Recommend avoiding strenuously.
Really happy with the meal tonight the service by the staff was friendly and chatty the food tasted great the price is great. restaurant is definitely no frills no mess no fuss and certainly lets the food speak for itself

We have been coming here for over 30 years. Used to be great and still is. Spring Rolls are the real thing, also the crispy squid. We also had Ginger Chicken which was lovely. A great tasting well priced restaurant.
