Getting here from Manhattan without a car is quite the urban adventure—it involves a subway ride to the end of the line, followed by a bus to the end of the line. However, it's always worth the trek. I've been coming here for the Onam Sadhya for the past three years, but this time, unlike in previous years, Sadhya is only available during the last three days of Onam, not throughout the week as before. We didn’t realize this before we arrived yesterday afternoon, so although we missed the Sadhya dinner, we still had a wonderful traditional Kerala meal called Tiffin.
Adipoli! We live in Connecticut and were on the lookout for a great place to enjoy an Onam Sadhya, and we found it at Taste of Kerala Kitchen. Although it was a three-hour drive, we decided to give it a try. The buffet featured an array of dishes, including rice, Avial, Veg Thoran, Parippu Curry, Mango Curry, Kootu Curry, Mango Pickle, Sambar, Moru, two varieties of Payasam, Pappadam, Rasam, and so many more delicious items. Everything was incredibly tasty, and we had an amazing experience. We even packed some non-vegetarian dishes to take home!
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The customer service was outstanding, and the food was absolutely delicious. My children wanted to try Papadam since they weren't familiar with it, and to our surprise, it was served for free. We'll definitely be returning, and the portion sizes were generous—enough for us to take some leftovers home!
The best Indian food and I know that because I have eaten Indian food for over 35 years. I'm very impressed. Everything was fresh and tasted like authentic Indian food.
