I last reviewed The Kings Head a few years ago when it had changed hands and had gone down hill badly! I'm now delighted to report the current landlord has got the place back on its feet both as a pub and a restaurant. We had Sunday Lunch on 1st January and the food was nothing short of superb. The best roast beef I've had in many a year and the yorkshire and vegetables were beautifully prepared and imaginative. My wife's vegetarian option was lovely and she ate every last bit! The service was lovely, making us feel at ease, unrushed and well cared for. It was also great value. We will be back soon. It's so good to have our local back again. Thanks to all involved!
We recently had a family lunch at The Kings Head Worcester and were impressed by the delicious food, especially the perfectly cooked and generous roast beef. The other meals were also excellent, and the service was good. I would have given five stars, but we were disappointed to find out that extra gravy cost an additional £2.00 and Horseradish sauce was an extra £1.00. The portions of these extras were extremely small, with the gravy served in a tiny gravy boat and the Horseradish sauce in a tiny pot containing only a small amount. Despite the excellent meal, we were disappointed by these extra charges and portion sizes.
During our canal boat holiday, we docked on the opposite side of the canal in search of a good meal. We arrived before the chef was ready, but the bar staff were welcoming and we had a few drinks before the kitchen opened. I decided to try the Sea Bass, which was fantastic and reasonably priced. I would definitely dine here again.
The fries were cooked in warm oil and were limp and greasy. The mushy peas had a sour taste, which the manager acknowledged. The fish had an old flavor. It was disappointing considering our previous positive experiences with the food at this restaurant. The bill was discounted as a result. One star given for the friendly staff.

The restaurant has a fantastic location, with a private courtyard next to the canal. The decor is nice and the low music adds to the ambiance. However, the food was not good. I paid £14 for a small, chewy burger with no vegetables. I might come back for a drink, but I would not order a meal again.
Had a chicken ceaser salad which consisted of lettuce, cheese that was packet grated, croutons, what tasted like frozen dry chicken and a tonne of mayonnaise. No proper dressing and it basically made me feel sick. £14 for that ,well it was terrible !
This is my second time dining at this restaurant and both experiences have been excellent. There's nothing like dining outdoors during the summer with delicious food, friendly service, and a laid-back atmosphere.
The food at this restaurant is always high-quality, but it does come with a higher price tag. Overall, I think it is worth paying a little extra for the excellent quality.
